Fallout Season 2
Sphere Activation
“Alethea was the heart of this project” - Ryan Bucci, Head of Creative Mocean
This 6-month adventure took us into:
Custom sketches, character pose studies, projection mapping for talent-likeness, rigging human and non-human characters, 3D scene building into animation.
This was the greatest challenge a team of Fallout fans could have ever received.
Storyboards
Many initial concepts were explored where we heavily considered the numerous ways to best showcase this unique location, finally landing on the miniature world of the Snow Globe. What better than to use the biggest spherical screen in the world.
We started with storyboards - exploring character poses, expressions, background elements, scale, props, and a few easter eggs!
The Challenge
We were required to work under Tier 0 security limitations due to this being one of Amazon’s top titles - this meant all work, assets, and creative reviews had to take place on-site.
Ensuring talent-likeness was a constant hurdle we happily obsessed over - we poured over the thousands of studio shots, on-set BTS, provided models, and any contextual resources we could locate from the Fallout legacy to capture every tiny detail.
We utilized Projection Mapping for the characters likeness and many custom elements such as Lucy’s No Vac sign to ensure every detail was perfectly captured.
We also built many of the unique elements from scratch such as Max’s jacket, Dogmeat (good girl!) and The Ghoul’s barbed-wire lasso.
We installed an on-site render farm to support the incredibly heavy renders required for this ambitious project, scaling when needed.

Going Above and Beyond is Never Not an Option
As a special THANK YOU to our wonderful partners at Amazon and the team who made this all possible, we decided to recreate the 3D scene in a real, custom-built snow globe - made by the same team who spearheaded the Sphere Campaign.
